The event of the year is coming. No, not the Knicks winning the NBA Finals, nor the FIFA World Cup, nor the 2026 primaries. It’s the forthcoming nuptials between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.

After Kelce knelt to the ground and pulled out a ring in August 2025, Swifties have been abuzz for the past 10 months awaiting more details about the “Love Story” singer’s ceremony.

When it comes to cold, hard facts, the when, where, and who of the ceremony remain largely under wraps. Still, plenty of rumors have emerged to keep fans sated until the big day arrives.

What is the reported date of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding?

None other than NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani seemingly confirmed the date of Swift and Kelce’s wedding. 

During a press conference on June 14, Mamdani addressed the numerous events taking place at the same time in New York. “We are the biggest city in the country,” he stated. “We are used to big events, and we are incredibly excited for this one,” he said, in regards to a World Cup match set to take place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.

In addition to that July 5 game, the Big Apple will be dealing with crowds from the Fourth of July, America 250, and, yes, Taylor Swift’s wedding. “All happening at the same time,” Mamdani said. This appeared to confirm the rumors that Swift would be wed over the upcoming holiday weekend.

Another reporter followed up about the Swift mention, asking, “You did mention Taylor Swift’s wedding. Have you been invited? Are you going?” 

Mamdani laughed, then replied, “No and no. I wish them a lovely wedding. I’ll listen to [Swift’s song] ‘Only the Young’ at home on my own.”

Did Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce cancel a Rhode Island wedding?

According to sources who spoke to TMZ, Kelce and Swift’s wedding was reportedly planned to take place in Rhode Island before things moved to New York City.

Though a celeb planner had initially shut down rumors of a wedding at the Ocean House in Westerly, R.I., TMZ’s source confirmed that the A-list couple had indeed locked down a date for the venue: June 13, a nod to Swift’s favorite number.

Further research uncovered that a fireworks display was reportedly planned for the reception, but by mid-May, the fireworks company was informed that the event had been relocated to NYC. Allegedly, the couple abandoned the plans when the venue got leaked.

Are they getting married at Madison Square Garden?

While the location of the ceremony itself remains up in the air, Kelce and Swift reportedly paid $3 million to rent the iconic, 820,000-square-foot Madison Square Garden for their wedding event.

Reports state the couple rented the venue for three days at a whopping $1 million per day fee — one day for the party, and two for setting things up and taking them down. However, TMZ shared last week that “it’s looking increasingly likely the nuptials will not take place at the Garden, but somewhere more intimate.”

Swift was recently spotted inside the arena at Game 4 of the NBA Finals, during which the Knicks clawed back 29 points to beat the San Antonio Spurs. She was joined by two of her reported 1,000 wedding guests, Este and Alana Haim.

A representative for Swift did not respond to Entertainment Weekly‘s request for comment on the MSG rumors.

After two years together, Swift said yes to Kelce in an intimate, fairytale moment surrounded by blossoming flowers — one might say it was something out of a piece of “folklore,” even.

In an Instagram carousel cheekily captioned “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” Swift showed off photos of Kelce on one knee, the two of them embracing warmly, and, of course, a shot of Swift’s gorgeous engagement ring.

Did Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have bachelor and bachelorette parties?

Swift and Kelce’s respective bachelorette and bachelor parties may have already happened.

Nothing has been confirmed, but a number of videos of Travis Kelce out and about with friends and family point to a major gathering occurring in San Diego over the June 19-21 weekend. Exclusive video obtained by TMZ shows Kelce, his brother Jason, and eight more of their friends exiting the Viejas Arena on the campus of San Diego State University following a Dave Chappelle stand-up show. They then proceeded to board a party bus.

According to Cosmopolitan, the group spent three days together. They attended the Chris Lake show in L.A. on Friday, then headed to the Bird Streets Club before making their way to San Diego. In attendance was Swift’s brother Austin Swift, along with Este Haim’s husband, Jonathan Levin, as seen in video footage taken by a fan.
